Definitions
1. A verifiable truth, empirical fact, or phenomenon that inconveniently contradicts the Trump Administration’s or MAGAverse’s preferred narrative, worldview, or financial well-being.
2. A label applied reflexively to anything that threatens ego, indicts allies, or requires reading. Often used to dismiss a story before the incriminating parts come out.
3. A rite of preemptive denial, usually in all caps.

Climate Change: “The greatest con job ever perpetrated. Con job, isn’t that what Jeffrey used to…I mean, HOAX!!!”
The Moon Landing: “Total hoax. NASA. More like NEVER-HAPPENED-SA. Staged in Georgia, a state everyone knows we won in 2020.”
Labor Statistics: “RIGGED, in order to make the Republicans, and ME, look bad.”
Russia’s 2016 Election Interference: “The hoax continues, especially Putin’s ability to keep making me believe him.”
2020 Election Fraud: “We will not accept hoaxes and lies. We’ve amassed overwhelming evidence about a fake election. Don’t attack the Capitol. I repeat: don’t attack the Capitol. (Pause, winks).”
The IRS: “Total hoax. They say I owe money. I say, ‘you’re fired.’ Now how much do I owe? I don’t owe, I earn credits.”
The Holocaust: “Paul Ingrassia, Nick Fuentes — very fine people. They insist it was exaggerated. Could be a hoax. Some people say it is, some say it isn’t. I don’t know.”
The Word “No”: “Nobody ever says it to me. When they do, they don’t mean it. Big hoax.”
